3.1 Criteria for Determination of Status Appointments

Subsection: Status Appointments

A Status Appointment is an appointment of a certified candidate to a position which has been classified and approved by the Director as a continuing position under the position control record plan of the System.

A position which meets the following criteria shall be filled with a Status Appointment:

  • There is an intent to continue the position for six or more months.
  • The work of the position is regular and continuous.
  • The appointment is either for 100%-time or less than 100%-time.

Appointments of a certified candidate to positions of different classes may be made. Total Status Appointment time cannot exceed full-time (100%).
