Job Description

The mission of Student Health Services at Illinois State University is to enhance the health and wellness of our students, individually and as a campus community, in order to enrich their educational experiences and future lifestyles. All of our physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses are board eligible/board certified in either family practice, internal medicine, or women's health. Lab, x-ray, and pharmacy services are available onsite. In addition to medical services, we provide health education, wellness, and prevention services.

This position concentrates primarily in Primary Care/Family Medicine and will be working with college-aged patients. Work duties include treatment of minor acute illnesses and injuries, women's health exams and routine physicals. This is a 12 month position which is subject to academic break layoff and will generally work the academic year only.


1. Possession of a current Physician's Assistant in Medicine certificate in the State of Illinois.


Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse - Nurse Practitioner 225 ILCS 65 et seq.

2. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

This position will be filled with either an APN, PA or a Staff Physician.
