Job Description

The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) is one of 12 departments within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides the campus community and guests with high-quality, efficient, and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.

This position is responsible for the daily operation and management of one or more of the retail operations as well as assisting with the management of others. Retail operations consist of five franchised restaurants (Einstein Bros. Bagels, McAlister's Deli, Pizza Hut, Starbucks & Burger King) plus two self-branded coffee shops and a high school store. This position will be responsible for the scheduling, product procurement, training, supervision, discipline administration as well as overseeing food products, cash handling, and customer service.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Plans, organizes, and manages the food production of assigned venues in accordance with franchise and department standards.
- Is available on the floor to do frequent table visits to assess the level of service. Assists in performing duties in other venues when needed.
- Supervises Snack Bar Supervisors, Snack Bar Attendants, and student employees.
- Trains employees on acceptable standards of service, sanitation, housekeeping, and food handling practices.
- Develops job descriptions, tracks attendance, completes evaluations, administers discipline, and performs other duties that relate to personnel administration.
- Maintains equipment, completes work orders, and makes recommendations for facility improvements.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Four (4) years of food service management experience (University training in dietetics, in hotel, restaurant, or institutional management, or in related fields may be substituted, year for year, for experience).

3. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.

4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

Salary

$2,673 - $3,358 per month
