Teacher Education Center Office Support Specialist

Job Description

This position primarily supports two coordinators who are responsible for securing pre-student teaching and student teaching placements and assists the Office of Clinical Experiences and Licensure Processes in documenting program requirements serving teacher education programs.

The Lauby Teacher Education Center organizes teacher education student teaching placements and educational data for 28 programs across 5 colleges on Illinois State's campus. Our center also houses the advisors for the departments of Special Education and Teaching and Learning.

Qualifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. Twelve (12) months of clerical/secretarial work experience comparable to that performed at the next lower level of this series.

3. Any one or combination of the following types of preparation:
(a) Twenty-four (24) months of work experience performing clerical/secretarial work, including use of computer systems; OR
(b) Twenty-four (24) semester hours college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration or Business Education (verify with transcript); OR
(c) Twelve (12) months of vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures comparable to that gained in "b" above (verify with transcript); OR
(d) Sixty (60) semester hours of college or university course work in any curriculum verify with transcript).

If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

Salary

$14.25 - $15.03 per hour
