Job Description

Eastern’s Student Accounts/Bursar Area is looking for a full-time Collection Specialist. Responsibilities include: pursuing collection efforts on delinquent student accounts, Federal Perkins loans and institutional loans; assisting current students and their families with questions or issues related to their accounts; and establishing payment arrangements for current students. The ability to communicate accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing, a willingness to learn, and excellent customer service skills are a must for this position.


This position requires one (1) year of collection, consumer credit or business experience that required a knowledge of collection methods and procedures OR college coursework that included courses in finance, accounting, business administration, business management, or a closely-related field OR a combination of the above equaling one (1) year AND one (1) year of collection experience comparable to the Collection Representative level or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
