Job Description

The Office Manager organizes and coordinates the administrative operations in support of the School of Theatre and Dance (SOTD) and the Illinois Shakespeare Festival (ISF). The Office Manager facilities projects on behalf of the Director/Producer, SOTD Administrative Aide, SOTD Academic Advisor, and the ISF Leadership Team. The Office Manager is responsible for managing the tasks in order to meet deadlines, in addition to the day-to-day operations of the School and the Festival. This position is located in the main office and is the first person that faculty, staff, students, and prospective students and their families encounter to answer their questions and to assist them with a variety of tasks. This position must be knowledgeable about School and Festival activities and University policies and procedures.

The School of Theatre and Dance offers a Bachelor's, a Master's, a 60-hour Master of Fine Arts degree, and a year-round ambitious production schedule. This mainstage production schedule consists of eight plays and two dance concerts during the academic school year and three plays during the summer with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
1. High school graduation or equivalent

2. Twenty-four (24) months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that performed at the Office Support Specialist level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility

If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.


PREFERRED:
1. Knowledgeable about School of Theatre and Dance activities, academic programs, and University policies.

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary

$15.64 - $16.42 per hour
