Job Description

The Assistant Director for Fiscal Management manages the oversight of the fiscal management of Event Management, Dining and Hospitality business operations by providing direction in the development of comprehensive accounting systems, policies, and procedures and ensures compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The incumbent also manages the preparation of unit budgets and exercises control of expenditures for Event Management, Dining and Hospitality. Reviews Event Management, Dining and Hospitality financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to guidelines. This position leads a team responsible for all accounting, purchasing, internal control, and financial analysis and reporting functions in the department.


1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, management or a field related to the position.
2. Two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administrative level
3. Supervisory and administrative abilities.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, as well as strong communication and problem solving skills.
5. Experience with auxiliary budgets with knowledge of finance and cost control principles.
6. Proficient in writing and editing reports and other materials that reflect an appreciation for the report audience.
7. Excellent oral and written communication, as well as organizational and time management skills.
8. Advanced Excel proficiency and experience working in other Microsoft Office applications.
9. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
