Job Description

The Executive Assistant to the Dean provides confidential executive support to the Dean of the Mennonite College of Nursing. This position independently performs specialized duties, coordinates special projects, drafts and edits letters, and writes reports. This position operates autonomously with the authority to make independent decisions. Strong professional ethics and a commitment to compliance and confidentiality are critical. The position regularly interacts with members of the Dean’s Cabinet and the Mennonite College of Nursing Alumni Board, as well as external vendors and the public. The incumbent serves as support staff for various functions of the college at special college events and fundraisers.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position
Three years of full time (or part-time equivalent) experience working in a professional managerial, business, or administrative support role
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in the following:
a. working with highly technical, confidential, and sensitive information
b. managing complex schedules/calendars for multiple staff members
c. managing travel bookings and scheduling.
Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism, dependability, accuracy, and confidentiality
Self-motivation as work is performed without direct supervision
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize numerous projects with different deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise good judgment, and manage what can be at times a stressful work environment


Salary

$55,000 - $58,000 annual

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
