Job Description

The Associate Director for University Housing Services Operations provides leadership and guidance for the administrative operations of the residence halls and University apartments, marketing, communication, and assessment. This position is responsible for managing and maximizing the use of residence hall spaces and apartment units and for providing a comprehensive, inclusive, and diverse residential living program for students as well as a developmental program for both professional and paraprofessional staff. The incumbent oversees the maintenance and update for a complex software system, contracts, short-term and long-term occupancy projections, room assignments, and associated communication and marketing for residence halls and University apartments. This position strives to create a residential environment that is conducive to diversity, equity and inclusion in a living and learning environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration or related field.
2. Six (6) years of full-time or part-time equivalent professional level experience in University Housing.
3. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and apply results of data.
4. Excellent organizational skills.
5. Strong supervisory skills.
6. An understanding of learning organization theory and practice.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to use a computer for communication, research, and composition.


Salary

$6,705 per month

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.

Illinois State University is authorized to do business within the State of Illinois. All work under this appointment is required to be performed from within the State of Illinois. If hired, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days from the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois driver’s license or a valid State of Illinois ID card.
