Job Description
The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality is one of 13 departments within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides the campus community and guests with high-quality, efficient, and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.
This position plays an integral role in accomplishing this goal by performing, supervising, and coordinating the work of Food Service Sanitation Laborers in the dish room, ware washing area, and kitchen facility. Persons in this position must maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in all areas of the dining center.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in a food service business or institution comparable to a university food service facility performing cleaning and sanitation services.
3. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
Preferred Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalency.
2. Full knowledge and acceptance of principles of diversity.
3. Knowledge of use and operation of cleaning materials, methods, and equipment; basic understanding of sanitation and safety procedures.
4. Supervisory and leadership skills; ability to train and instruct employees; ability to organize, prioritize, and assign duties.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to produce results working as part of a team or committee.
6. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce all policies and procedures, especially those pertaining to sanitation and safety.
7. Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions and work independently.
8. Basic mechanical ability; ability to do heavy lifting.
9. Current Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate

$24.08 per hour
