Job Description

The function of the Office Manager is to manage the operations of a Campus Area Office which is the conduit of the professional, paraprofessionals, and students residing in the area. Additionally this role is responsible for managing administrative duties for the Area Coordinator, all Residence Hall Coordinators, and Service Area Coordinator assigned to the area. Including support/secretarial and accurate record-keeping functions such as screening incoming calls, visitors, and mail, composing reports and memos, creating, and maintaining electronic and paper files, scheduling and maintaining event calendars, tracking appeals and project/communication timelines, and assisting with processing student and staff requests. Management of the area will require the use of judgment and initiative. Excellent knowledge of the residence halls’ organization, programs, practices, and procedures is essential to performing duties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series. This includes work such as performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database and software packages. Knowledge of the organization, programs, practices and procedures of the unit is central to the performance of the duties.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Detail oriented, proficient in data entry, word processing, filing systems, telephone, Windows-based programs (preferably accounting, word processing, and spreadsheet programs).
2. Outstanding communication and customer service skills are required. Ability to compose letters, memos and other general business correspondence also required.
3. Ability to maintain and organize accurate records
4. Ability to meet deadlines while working under pressure and be flexible with job priorities.
5. Must be able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
6. Ability to prioritize numerous projects with a variety of constituents and timelines.
7. Ability to learn new computer systems.


Salary

$19.06 - $19.71 per hour
