Job Description

-Coordinate scheduling and logistics for all MSW academic year events, including working with MSW Director and Advisors to prepare for NEIU Open Houses, MSW Information Sessions, and MSW Program Community events, lectures and conferences.

-Develop and distribute all print and social media outreach to support annual MSW events.

-Prepare and maintain systems to interface with the NEIU Admissions Office, MSW Director and the MSW Admissions Committee to track application material and prepare an efficient and timely process for review and response of MSW admission decisions.

-Continue to coordinate with NEIU Admissions Office, MSW Director and the MSW Admissions Committee with annual admissions cycle tasks from above (Fall & Spring Semesters.)

-Receive all MSW Program Intent-to-Enroll letters and coordinate with MSW Field and Advising Teams to support spring and summer newly admitted students’ course planning and advising.

-Support the MSW Field Program with student internship matching process placements including, but not limited to: maintaining and updating Field Program database, records and file tracking for students placed in internships.

-Assist with field education events and information sessions.

-Work with MSW Program Field Director to finalize Field Team matching for upcoming academic year.

-Prepare and assist with MSW Program promotion, outreach and visibility efforts.

-Support new student summer orientations.

-Maintain NEIU MSW Program alumni database and develop and maintain a quarterly MSW Program and Alumni Newsletter.

-Prepare and update MSW program materials (handbooks, newsletters, brochures).

-Respond to student inquiries via MSW Program email as needed.

-Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree.
-Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.


Additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization:

Departmental Preferences:

-Experience working in higher education, student support, or program coordination roles
-A Master’s degree in Social Work, or progress toward one, preferred
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
-Experience with data tracking, reporting, and basic assessment to support program evaluation and improvement
-Bilingual preferred

Hours: This is a Part-time position (22.5 hours per week), scheduled Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary based on departmental needs.)

Location: NEIU Main Campus 5500 North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625.

This position requires a background check.
