Job Description
The Associate Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for leading strategic programs that foster meaningful connections between alumni and Illinois State University. This role oversees the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of events, initiatives, and services that advance the mission and priorities of the Office of Alumni Engagement. The Associate Director collaborates with alumni across diverse geographic regions and partners closely with campus units to strengthen alumni relationships and enhance engagement opportunities. This position provides leadership for the execution of signature Homecoming events and other high profile programs. Additionally, the Associate Director may be assigned special projects and initiatives by the Executive Director and Senior Director of Alumni Engagement in support of broader strategic goals.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Minimum of two (2) years of full time or part time equivalent professional experience in event management or alumni engagement work which must have included supervision and budget management.
3. Experience working with, managing, or supervising volunteers.
4. Demonstrated professional experience exhibiting excellent communication skills, including writing and small group interactions.
5. Ability to interact effectively with persons of various ages and experiences, including handling difficult situations and motivating volunteers.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with a good sense of organization and planning. Detail oriented.
7. Competency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data base and/or customer relationship management software.
8. Valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle.
9. Ability to exercise judgement and/or solve problems within generally defines practices and polices of the office and in keeping with professional standards.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Alumnus of Illinois State University.
2. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
3. Possess good working habits and be a self-starter.
Salary
$55,500 annual
