Job Description
-Identify, facilitate and monitor needed clinical affiliation agreements with all clinical facilities.
-Identify the number of clinical placements needed each semester, in accordance with the curriculum and expected enrollment.
-Implement all clinical requests per each agency requirements to adequately meet nursing student clinical course rotations.
-Manage administrative activities associated with clinical placement of the ABSN students and faculty, including adherence to all agency-specific requirements.
-Assist in the on-boarding process for adjunct clinical faculty in collaboration with the Executive Director of Nursing.
-Collect and verify licensure of all adjunct clinical faculty in collaboration with the Executive Director of Nursing.
-Assist with ongoing adjunct clinical faculty development in collaboration with both the Executive Director of Nursing and the Director of Simulation.
-Coordinate with responsible healthcare partner staff members to ensure students remain in compliance with healthcare partners’ clinical requirements through the duration of the program.
-Manage student communication regarding clinical placement, site requirements and healthcare partners’ clinical requirements.
-Collaborate with faculty and staff in preparing and orienting students to healthcare partners.
-Proactively monitor student clinical requirements and compliance.
-Determine clinical placement and schedules for nursing students each term in conjunction with the academic advisor ensuring appropriate progression.
-Gather data regarding student, faculty and facility satisfaction with clinical experiences based on the Systematic Evaluation Plan.
-Contribute to annual program assessment related to clinical partners and nursing student clinical experiences.
-Maintain a database including agency contact information, requests and placement confirmation or denial, and clinical compliance requirements.
-Maintain a database with clinical faculty contact information, placement confirmation, and compliance with agency-specific requirements.
-Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
Departmental Preferences:
-Earned Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
-Minimum of at least 3 years healthcare industry experience/knowledge.
-Personal and professional commitment to inclusive education, diversity, and advocacy for adult learners.
-Experience in maintaining high standards of professional relationships.
-Strong collaborative working style to foster relationships with healthcare systems.
-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
-Proficiency with data collection, data management and analysis, and data reporting.
-Experience in higher education.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs).
Location: NEIU - El Centro (3390 N. Avondale, Chicago, IL 60618)
Setting: Clinical Experience Coordinator is an on-campus position. (Hybrid or remote work may be considered in the future if operational needs allow).
This position requires a background check.
Salary
$82,000.00 - $85,000.00
