Transfer refers to moving an employee from one position to another position
within the same class between constituent places of employment served by the
System.
If the employee's probationary period in the class has been completed:
- The employee shall request the transfer by completing an Application for
Employment. Such request shall be initiated only when it has been confirmed
that the class is utilized at the desired place of employment.
- The DER shall sign a completed Restoral Register card (blue) showing total
seniority as of the date of request and the desired location of employment.
- The DER shall send the completed application and register card to the DER
at the desired location.
- The DER(s) receiving the transfer request accepts or rejects the request
by indicating action on the back of the card(s).
- If the request is accepted, the DER retains the cards, filing it on the
register for the appropriate class in accordance with length of service and
ahead of the Original Entry cards by score.
- If the request is rejected, the DER returns the card to the place of employment
at which it was originated.
- The DER originating the request shall notify the employee of its acceptance
or rejection.
- The date of acceptance shall be used for computation of seniority for placement
on the register.
- The date of the employee's actual transfer shall be used as the date of
separation from the former Employer.
- The employee shall not serve a new probationary period.
- The new Employer shall notify the System: of the former Employer, class,
position number, certification information and date of separation together with
the information concerning the new appointment. Indicate TRANSFER WITHIN SYSTEM.
If the employee's probationary period in the class has NOT been completed:
- The employee shall request the transfer by completing an Application for
Employment. Such request shall be initiated only when it has been confirmed
that the class is utilized at the desired place of employment.
- The DER signs a completed Original Entry register card (white) using information
from the examination records listing the desired place of employment. The employee
must also sign the card.
- The date of application shall be the date of the request.
- The examination date and score shall be from the most recent examination
for the class.
- The DER shall send the completed application and register card to the DER
at the desired location.
- The card shall be placed on the Original Entry register at the desired place
of employment.
- The date of the employee's actual transfer shall be used as the date of
separation from the former Employer.
- The employee shall serve a new probationary period.
- The new Employer shall notify the System: of the former Employer, class,
position number, certification information and date of separation together with
the information concerning the new appointment. Indicate TRANSFER WITHIN SYSTEM.
