An employee shall be separated by termination when:
- As a Temporary or Extra Help employee the work assignment is completed.
- As a Provisional employee, the employee fails the examination and qualified candidates have become available for appointment. (He/she may remain in the position providing no candidate becomes available for the appointment.)
- As an Apprentice, or Intern, the employee is separated from the training program prior to completion or is not certified to a status position following completion of the training program.
- The employee is unable to return to work at the expiration of disability leave.
- The employee dies.
- The employee retires.
The University System Office shall be notified of certain terminations. See Example 5.8a
